I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Debuts on Star World

Airing at at 10pm on Monday, July 20.

STAR WORLD debuts the smash hit ITV Studios America reality series I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here, acquired from ITV Global Entertainment, TV Distribution.
Airing just weeks after the US telecast, I’m a Celebrity follows a group of pampered stars who are dropped into the Costa Rican jungle and forced to fend for themselves.
As the celebrities take part in a series of endurance-testing trials to win luxury items and avoid elimination, cameras will capture their every meltdown and mishap. US viewers will then vote on who will ultimately be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle. The last celebrity standing wins a cash prize for their favorite charity.
The premiere episode of I’m a Celebrity on 1 June topped the ratings in the US. The debut on NBC was the night’s No.1 primetime show among adults 18-34 and men 18-34.
I’m a Celebrity beat ABC’s reality show The Bachelorette head-to-head in all key demographics and in total viewers.
The celebrity cast includes brothers Daniel and Stephen Baldwin, Golden Globe nominee Lou Diamond Phillips, retired pro wrestler Torrie Wilson, comedy duo Frangela (Frances Callier and Angela V. Shelton) and one-time pro basketball player John Salley. Other cast members found their fame on reality TV, including American Idol finalist Sanjaya Malakar, former Top Model judge Janice Dickinson and The Hills’ Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt.
After its first week on air, I’m a Celebrity had become the most buzzed-about show of TV’s summer season. When Montag and Pratt quit the show after just four days in the jungle, then returned to the set asking to be reinstated, it sparked a flood of headlines, feature articles and online chatter throughout the US.
Says Sumantra Dutta, Country Head for STAR Middle East, Pakistan and Africa: “Given the success of the show in the US, viewers will enjoy seeing celebrities taken out of their comfort zone and put in a challenging environment. In its consistent endeavor to provide top of the line entertainment, STAR WORLD is always on the lookout for shows that entertain and surprise. We are confident the show will enjoy a similar success in the Middle East when it launches on our channel in July.”
James Ross, Regional Director – Asia, ITV Global Entertainment said "I'm a Celebrity... is fast becoming one of the world's biggest television brands, topping the ratings wherever it's broadcast. ITV is very pleased that STAR WORLD has chosen to include the show in the primetime lineup for July, and we look forward to Asia being entertained by the antics of Janice, Heidi, Stephen and the team, all summer long.”
I’m a Celebrity premieres first on STAR WORLD on Mon, 20 July at 10pm and airs with Arabic subtitles. Following its two-hour launch, the series will air every Mon and Tue at 10pm.
