Mera Naam Karegi Roshan-Reet Ki Aayegi Baraat on Zee TV on Aug 30

Sana Shaikh, the lead of Zee TV’s newly launched show — Mera Naam Karegi Roshan is having a tough time picking up dance steps for her own wedding sequence in the show. Today, when the modern day actors and actresses are assumed to step into the industry with excellent dancing prowess, Sana is finding it extremely difficult to match up with her counterparts like Suhasi Dhami, Ankita Lokhande, Aditi Gupta, Binny Sharma and others.

TV stars don't have to be dance prodigies but the profession demands that they should be able to learn some basic dance steps and sway in sync in case a serial demands a celebration sequence. Currently in the show, Reet is all gearing up to settle down in holy matrimony. And the twist in the tale is that there’s not one but 2 suitors vying for her attention — Yagya (Sufi Malhotra) — a self made police officer and another Bheesm Pratap Singh (Sahil Anand) — a rich spoilt Ministers relative.

To be telecast on 30th Aug, Monday - this 2 hour wedding special titled, Reet Ki Aayegi Baraat will also feature the leads of other Zee Shows come and shake a leg.  Karan — Abha from Yahaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli; Manav – Archana from Pavitra rishta’; Aditie Gupta, Iqbal Khan and Binny Sharma from Sanjog se Bani Sangini and a host of other actors from Choti Bahu, Karol Bagh, Pavitra Rishta as well as Mera Naam karegi roshan will participate in this gala celebration.

Sana Shaikh is a director’s sweetheart but a choreographer’s nightmare. Pappu Malu the choreographer of the marriage scene in Mera Naam Karegi Roshan had the arduous task of pulling off the dance sequences well with Sana .

MARATHI numbers — more than enough!!

Sushant Rajput and Ankita Lokhande say no to Marathi numbers. The hit jodi of Pavitra Rishta are apparently tired of dancing to the Marathi tunes.  “Oh nooo… not again...!!” was their expression when recently they were asked to perform on, “ nanachi taang…” (from the movie Khatta meetha) during the Mega wedding event of Mera Naam Karegi Roshan.

Currently in the show, Reet is all gearing up to settle down in holy matrimony. Manav and Archana have strictly put their foot down saying that they will they will dance to any other song but a Marathi one. They are known to have danced on a Maharashtrian song every time Zee TV has a special show. Archana and Manav, have expressed a desire to dance on some romantic numbers this time. “We have enjoyed dancing on Maharashtrian numbers, but want to try out other forms of dance also” said Sushant Rajput.

Now the pair is said to be shaking a leg on the songs ‘jogi maahi heer ranjha’, ‘aila re ladki mast mast  tu aila re’ and the latest chart buster ‘ tum jo aaye zindagi mein baat ban gayi…’

FIC and AMC announces the lauch of The Walking Dead

 Series to debut in 120 countries speak 33 languages and will be viewed in 250 million households this fall

Fox International Channels (FIC) and AMC announced a global launch for the highly anticipated series The Walking Dead. The two networks will release the show during the same week this fall. AMC is set to premiere on Sunday, October 31st followed by FIC’s worldwide launch the first week of November.

A television production from Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile) and Gale Anne Hurd (The Terminator, Aliens, Armageddon, The Incredible Hulk), and based on Robert Kirkman’s best selling graphic novel, The Walking Dead will debut in 120 countries, air in 33 languages and be viewed in 250 million households when it premieres  this fall. This is an unprecedented event, marking the first time ever a TV series premieres in similar fashion to a theatrical film release.

“FIC has launched shows on a multi-territory basis in the past but never at this scale or at the same time with a US Network,” said Sharon Tal Yguado, SVP Original Programming and Development. “The Walking Dead is a groundbreaking project with clear global appeal. Considering the strong buzz and anticipation the show has already generated globally at this early stage, we wanted to make sure we launch it in the most powerful way possible. We are thrilled to be working with AMC on this worldwide ‘outbreak.’ This partnership represents FIC's ongoing commitment to deliver high quality content on a global level.”

AMC and FIC are working closely on a global marketing strategy to ensure a strong impact for this world wide event.

The Walking Dead is AMC’s first wholly-owned original series. Earlier this summer, FIC announced that it picked up all international rights for the project, which includes TV and Home Video Rights in all international markets outside of North America.

ISS Season 4 grand finale rated high television viewership

Asianet‘s Idea Star Singer Season 4 grand finale rated high television viewership.

Asianet’s popular reality show ‘Idea Star Singer season 4’ has garnered high TRP scores for the channel in its grand finale. As claimed by the channel and supported by TAM figures, the event broke the TV rating records and has become the most watched event ever telecast on Malayalam television.

According to TAM data, in Kerala total market, the show scored 24 TVRs with a share of 68 percent and GRP of 368 (Cs Fe ABC 15+, Kerala Total), and left channels like Surya , Kairali, Kiran and Amritha TV trailing way behind. The previous season of the programme had also brought in high ratings for the channel.

A highlights of the Tam media research findings was the female viewership points of 29 for the programme aired on Sunday, August1, from the venue at the Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram.

No significant switch-off or viewer migration was reported during the programme that rolled off to a star at 6.30pm and lasted almost until midnight.

Independence Day Special: Hindustan Meri Jaan on Zee TV

The lead pairs and actors of the leading serials of Zee TV decided to celebrate the 63rd year of Indian Independence on the sets of Yahaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli.

The Independence Day special on Zee TV is called Hindustan Meri Jaan. It is divided into three segments where popular anchor of Dance India Dance Manish Paul interacts with the Deshmukh family from Pavitra Rishta, Thakur’s family from Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo and the Singh family from Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli and distributes ‘Azaadi Ka Laddoo’. To get their hands on the sweets each family member has to complete a task and cross their heart and take a pledge to stand up for a social cause prevalent in our society. Freedom is holistic in nature and till the time we collectively join hands to eradicate social evils, we are not free in the true sense of the word. The grand finale of Idea Star Singer Season 4 was held live on August 1 2010 at Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram. Several prominent people from the film industry and socio-cultural spheres were present on the occasion.

Joby John from Kozhikode was announced as the winner of  Idea Star Singer Season 4, Sreenath from Palakkad is  the first runner-up, Preethi Warrier from Mumbai was declared second runner-up and last but not the least, Anju Joseph  from Kottayam and Vidya Shankar from Chennai secured the third and fourth runners-up spot respectively in the grand  finale.
