STAR WORLD presents the LIVE telecast of the52nd Annual Grammy Awards 2010 on Mon, 1st February at 5am (UAE). Hailed as Music’s Biggest Night, the prestigious event will be held at the famed Staples Centre in Los Angeles.
Each year, the Grammy Awards celebrates the music industry’s most gifted artists. As in previous years, 2010’s star-studded ceremony will feature performances from pop’s biggest acts.
Among the nominees, super diva Beyoncé leads the pack with a whopping ten nominations while young pop sensation Taylor Swift scored eight. Hip-hop power players Kanye West, Jay-Z, Black Eyed Peas, and R&B crooner Maxwell each earned six nominations while pop starlet Lady Gaga earned five.
Indian Musician and Oscar winner AR Rahman has been first time nominated for the Grammy’s, popularly known as the Oscars of the music industry.
He fetched two nominations for his soundtracks from Slumdog Millionaire. The Track Jai Ho which got him Two Academy awards and a Golden Globe has been nominated in the category of Best Song Written for Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media.
AR Rahman has also nominated in the category of Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for Motion Picture, Television or other Visual Media for Slumdog Millionaire.
